Ministries
Bus Ministry
For several years, our workers have been picking up children from
nearby housing areas in order to give them the privilege of attending
Sunday School and church services. Hundreds of hours have been invested
in this ministry, and the dividends have been exciting!
Choir
Many of our church members use their musical abilities to honor the Lord
every Sunday morning and evening. Their hard practice and faithful singing
bless us week after week, as our hearts are prepared for the message.
Clean Up and Lawn Crews
These behind-the-scenes workers pay much more than lip service to the Lord,
they work hard to keep our facilities clean and beautiful.
Children's Churches
Children need to hear the Bible taught on their level. Junior Church is geared
toward children from 4 years old through 4th grade. Puppets, fun
songs, missionary stories, games, and preaching are all part of this
exciting ministry.
Discipleship Program
This ministry was started when we recognized a need in our churches for
real discipleship as our Lord commanded. The program we use is called
"Christian Mentoring from A to Z". This is a one-on-one mentoring process
in which a trained worker (Discipler) will train his/her student (Timothy).
This program is a commitment between two people to meet for 28 weeks in study.
There has been much excitement in this program. We have seen souls saved
and greater understanding and hunger for God's word. Our teens participate in
a similar program, "Mentoring Teens from A to Z". The first person
saved was a teen that we told about the program. Information about this
program can be found on the Valley Forge
Baptist Temple website.
Greeters
Every time we arrive at PBT for a church service, we are met by the cheerful
welcome of our greeters. Their friendliness is an encouragement even before
the service begins!
Keen-Agers
This ministry here at PBT is for our Senior Saints (and guests). We call
them Keen-Agers because they know how to have a good time. From
luncheons to Christmas light shows, special speakers, and tours to
exhibits at museums. They enjoy a great time of fellowship together.
Kids4truth Club
This club's goal is to disciple our primary age children (ages 3 -11) in
their scripture memorization and daily devotions, and to practice obedience.
The Kids4truth Club meets every Wednesday. Club members enjoy fun Bible lessons
with DVD stories to reinforce the lesson, singing, scripture memorization, and
games. The children are given awards as they finish each of their projects. The
Kids4truth Club also gives the children much needed discipleship, and many service
opportunities through speaking and singing performances and through other activities.
Ladies' Outreach
The ladies here at PBT know how to have a good time. From luncheons to
Christmas House tours, the ladies fellowships are always a blessing to
those who come.
Military Outreach
This ministry's desire is to serve the families of those who serve our
country by praying for them, encouraging them and providing resources
for them.
Nursery
Imagine trying to concentrate on the worship service over the crying of
babies all over the auditorium! To avoid this difficulty, caring members
volunteer their time to serve in the nursery. They are a blessing to all
of us!
Secret Pals
Any lady who loves to encourage another lady anonymously with prayers,
gifts, and encouraging notes can be a part of this ministry! Secret Pals
are revealed at the end of each year, and new pals are then drawn from
the hat for the new year.
Sunday School
Can't get enough of the Word of God? If so, our Sunday School ministry is
for you! Our classes include 2-3 year olds, 4-5 year olds, 1st - 3rd
grades, 4th-6th grades, Teenagers, College & Career, Single Adults, and
Married Adults.
Teen Ministry
In addition to relevant Bible studies each Sunday and Wednesday (Proteen's
program), the group enjoys monthly activities such as Big Ball games,
Scavenger Hunts, Bowling, Mini Golf, Go-carting, and more. We also offer
the discipleship program to our teens called, "Mentoring Teens from A to Z".
(see discipleship) The highlight of the teenagers' year is to attend Camp at
the Wilds each summer!
Ushers Ministry
These men are a great assistance in keeping us organized! They help by
directing guests to the proper locations, passing out guest packets and
collecting the offerings.
Vacation Bible School
This annual ministry each summer for many children, Vacation Bible School
is a highlight, as they enjoy a whole week of Bible teaching, crafts, puppet
shows, the VBS store, singing, and Bible stories!
Visitation Ministry
This ministry is the means through which our church reaches out into our
community. This ministry includes church flyer distribution, hospital and
shut-in visitation and visiting guests who have attended our services.
With many housing areas in our area popping up, this is a much needed
ministry of our church.
